About Us

Our History

Sacred Heart Commercial High School is a Roman Catholic institution founded in 1937 by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, a religious congregation of men founded by Reverend Fr. Andre’ Coindre, a French diocesan priest in Lyon, France 1821. The School is under the auspices of the Leribe Diocese Bishop and is conducted by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, in partnership with lay collaborators.

We are dedicated to the Christian education of young men who are morally upright, academically sound, socially balanced, and physically capable.

Following the ideology of Brother Henry, SC is also considered the “father” and founder of the school, who laid the foundation and the rhythm of the school, the school emphasizes a system of free discipline. We strive that as a team, we work around the clock to systematically and progressively better the results The boys are prepared to respect, account for, and be transparent in their dealings with minimum supervision. We believe that rigid supervision of students is detrimental to their character development. The school, therefore, adopts a liberal tradition at the very time of its inception, and 84 years later, the tradition has been maintained. The school is among the most prestigious schools in Lesotho, owing to its excellent academic performance and dominance in sports disciplines. Many of our students who have passed through Sacred Heart High school have occupied crucial civil service, society, and political positions.

Everyday at Sacred Heart is a blessing with the active students and talented staff members around.
